Every year, the whole world waits for that time of the year – the time when they are going to change positively. That time is 1st January which, for people like us, represents the beginning of a new life full of changes and positivity.
Although we are all very different, we sometimes have the same goals. Speaking of those goals and New Year, it's crucial to mention the importance of setting new goals. But I won't repeat what I've said, so hop onto this link – it will redirect you to one of my previous texts where I taught you about motivation, goals, and why they are essential.
The most prominent themes that follow the resolutions are physical activity, reading, saving money, getting more organized, etc.
Without further ado, let's list the top 5 New Year's resolutions and how to achieve them!
Get in Shape!
Let's be honest – we were all there. We all want to get in „perfect shape,“ and we often idealize other people's bodies. It's expected that it never crossed our minds to try to do something about it; even if it did, we needed to be more consistent.
Getting into shape is one of the most popular resolutions. Combined with „Exercise daily“ and „Eat healthy,“ they all sparkle at the top of our lists.
It's easy to start, but it's hard to continue. You must find the exercises and diet programs suitable for you – your body isn't the same as that celebrity's.
Also, keep in mind that it's okay to skip a day or two. Those are called „Cheat days,“ and you shouldn't be scared to try them out once a week.
Switching to a healthier diet is incredibly tricky since we are surrounded by junk food. However, with some determination and essential tips, you can develop healthier habits in general, but especially for this. Learn to control so-called emotional eating and have fun! There are numerous fun recipes and ways to prepare yourself a healthy and unforgettable dinner.
Develop Confidence
We all know one person who is not confident enough, whether it's our friend or us. Lack of confidence is never a good thing – reason – when did it bring you something good? Never! It only raises your insecurities to another level where you can't even look at yourself in the mirror.
It's okay to feel insecure sometimes, but too much is too much! We are all perfect in our way – with all the flaws we have and all the positive sides we have. Some of us have beautiful eyes, and others have beautiful hair! It's not important. Be happy with what you have, and worship your strengths as much as possible!
You may say: „Yeah, it's easy for you to say that.“ I agree! It's easy to say it – that's why I do this, but I also try to develop confidence. I'm constantly anxious about my writing even though it's, to be honest, awesome! 😀
How to do this? That includes positive self-talk, focusing on your achievements more, seeing failure as an opportunity to learn something new, and being conscious about what you can do – everything!
Ah, yes! It's that time of the year when we make a read list that we always follow. Let's put irony aside.
Books are an excellent way to gain knowledge on various topics. They are great exercises for your brain but also the best way to improve your vocabulary and writing skills.
If you feel like writing a reading list, here's the link to the best text I could find. And nope, it's not mine 😉
I often set a goal on how many books I'll read. It's usually spans between 15 and 25. It may seem like a lot but a year has 12 months. Read two books a month, and you'll have 24! Just try to read the ones you find interesting – do not force yourself to skim through a book and ruin the beauty of reading and traveling through the unknown worlds.
Save Money!
Can Money buy happiness? We have already been talking about that. But how to save it, and why should you? Well, that's a whole new world.
Always have in mind your earnings. If you're an adult, spend only a little money on unnecessary things. It's okay to go out for lunch occasionally, but don't make it a habit. Food is expensive nowadays, and you could make five lunches with the same amount of money you'd pay someone else to prepare just one.
If you're a child (under 18 and unemployed), ask your parents to give you some money! But DO NOT spend it all! If you get 5 euros, save 3, spend 2 – just don't spend it all. After some time, you'll have a hundred or more euros to spend on whatever you like!
Also, walk to school sometimes – don't spend money on the bus. It's one euro which means a lot if you save it and combine it with other savings!
Become More Organized!
Last but not least, at our list is also a need to be more organized. It's not important how much time you have; if you can't manage it properly, you'll just run around aimlessly.
Organization is a skill that can be learned. It requires some time to adjust to it, but as I said before, be consistent, determined, and dedicated to it.
Whether you're a student or have a job, good organizational skills are a must! You'll most likely never fail anything; you'll never end up being nervous because you haven't done something on time – therefore, you'll be happier and better at school/job!
So, this is all for this year. I hope you're all healthy and that will make 2023 your year. Follow these instructions, be dedicated to them, and you'll have no problems! Think before you do something, always give 100% of yourself and never feel bad if something goes unplanned – it's all a part of this beautiful life! Happy New Year!
