According to Wikipedia, Boredom is an emotional and occasionally psychological state experienced when an individual is left without anything in particular to do, is not interested in their surroundings, or feels that a day or period is dull or tedious.
While this state is usual for everyone, an individual should not be stuck in this state for a long period of time. It may cause depression and anxiety, as well as anger, but also an academic failure.
The reason why I chose this as my article theme, is because I have been stuck in this state and I feel like I am going to give you adequate information on how to get away from it.
Welcome to 10 Ways How to Cope With Boredom, I'm going to be Your Guide for today – enjoy!
Make a „Things to do when I'm bored“ list
If you're bored, what's a better thing to do than to make a plan on what you'll do next time you are in that state? You will have a list to do when you are bored, so you won't be bored the next time. Make this list as diverse as possible since you won't feel like doing the same things now and then.
Take a piece of paper and a pen. Write a title and keep on writing the ideas you currently have. You can also have a notebook for it because you can always update it when something comes to your mind.
Making this will make you prepared for the next time you fall into this awful state. Being prepared means solving half of a problem so be sure to write it as fast as possible.
Sleep
A very simple piece of advice. I bet you don't like anything more than sleep. Even though too much sleep can make you feel even worse than before, a short 15-minute nap won't have any consequences.
It's 4 p.m. You don't have homework, you've done everything you can – what to do? Just sleep. You will feel better and more relaxed.
But there is a problem with this. It only lasts for about 15 minutes, and you will probably be bored after. Let's go on the next advice and see what it has for you!
Go out in the open air
There is not much preparation for this. Just put on your shoes and go outside! Enjoy the beautiful nature of this world and be thankful for every moment of it. Besides everything, you only have one life, and try living it to its fullest.
Also, turn on some music if you'd like. Listen to your favorite artist and slowly walk enjoying the sceneries around you.
Read
A very basic advice, but also one of the best ones. Not only does it entertains you, yet it boosts your vocabulary and memory.
Make sure to check out our most recent text from my colleague Isidora, who wrote a text about books that are almost equally as good as their ecranisations.
If you don't understand any of the Balkan languages, you might need Google Translate for this one. Don't worry though – if you cannot find something, feel free to ask us on our social media platforms.
Clean your room
There is nothing better than a feeling of cleanliness. I'm sure you know what it feels like, some more some less. Also, you will feel like you accomplished something big, and therefore, your happiness will be boosted (just like we mentioned in one of our articles).
I know you don't feel like it, but just clean it. Get up and start! Put on some music and vibe! Sing, Dance, Jump, just make sure to clean it.
After you've done that, study, read, and watch a movie – I'll keep you informed on this one in the next piece of advice.
Watch a movie
I bet you expected this one coming! Well, you were right. As much as I like reading, I like watching movies as well! Laying in bed, eating popcorn, and watching a movie – are a perfect combination for every time of the year.
So, the next time you get bored, go to your bed, get cozy and open Netflix on your TV, laptop, or phone. Pick a movie based on your favorite genre and enjoy!
There is not much to talk about this advice, it's simple yet clear.
Talk to your friends
And for the last one, we have to talk to our friends. Since we live in the Digital Era, it's most logical to just call your friends. Of course, it's wonderful, but try to combine it with the other advice that was given to you.
For example, go outside with your friends, talk about books or movies, create plans about when are you going to watch them, or even play some board games – the possibilities are endless.
It doesn't have to be a friend you'll talk to! It can be someone from your family, or even your pet, with whom you'll only be able to go for a walk, of course.
I hope you liked this text, but I also hope that you will not feel as equally as bored as before. These pieces of advice were very short but very clear. If you have any more advice for our readers, feel free to leave them in the comments!
